Dr. Chun-Teh Lee is Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth) School of Dentistry, where he is also Director of Research for the Department of Periodontics and Dental Hygiene.

Following graduation from dental school, Dr. Lee served as Dental Officer in the Combined Logistics School in Taoyuan, Taiwan, and then worked as a dentist in private practice in Taipei before coming to the United States.

In pursuing educational endeavors in the US, he was awarded a Master of Science (MS) degree and certificate in Periodontics by Columbia University College of Dental Medicine in New York. He was awarded a Doctor of Medical Science (DMSc) in Oral Biology from Harvard School of Dental Medicine, and then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in Applied Oral Sciences at the Forsyth Institute in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Dr. Lee’s research focuses on the interaction between host response and oral microbiota in periodontitis and computer-aided diagnosis; he is also active in implantology and evidence-based dentistry. He has published over 45 peer-reviewed articles, 55 abstracts, and several book chapters. Dr. Lee has given numerous invited presentations in Taiwan and the US and is the recipient of many awards and honors. His clinical interests involve periodontal and implant treatments.
