Her research focuses on type 2 diabetes epidemiology in high burden settings, with a regional focus on Latin America, and on the development of scalable interventions to improve diabetes self-care among Latino adults. She earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her internal medicine residency and endocrinology, diabetes and metabolism fellowship at MGH.
