Andrea Dotson MD, MSPH

Sheps Center for Health Services Research, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, North CarolinaDr. Dotson is a NRSA primary care research fellow at the Cecil G. Sheps Center at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and a clinician in the Department of Family Medicine. She received her Bachelors of Arts and Bachelors of Science from Florida State University. Following graduation, she taught high school science in Houston, Texas with Teach for America. She then went on to complete her Masters of Science in Public Health from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. She completed residency in family medicine at the University of New Mexico. Her interests include substance abuse during pregnancy, maternal outcomes, adverse childhood experiences as well as trauma informed care for children, and early childhood development.
