McConkey, PhD, is a Professor in the Departments of Urology and Cancer Biology and Director of Urological Research at U.T. M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. He also serves as co-Principal Investigator of the MD Anderson SPORE in Bladder Cancer, Chair for Translational Medicine for the Genitourinary Cancers Committee of the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG), and a member of the Bladder Cancer Advocacy Network’s (BCAN’s) Bladder Cancer Genomics Consortium (BCGC) Advisory Committee. His research interests are focused on using genomics to identify the molecular mechanisms underlying bladder cancer heterogeneity and to use this information to transform the clinical management of patients with bladder cancer.
