Robert Bonakdar MD, FAAFP, FACN
Director of Pain Management, Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, La Jolla, CaliforniaDr. Bonakdar, a pain and headache specialist, is a member of the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, where he is the Director of Pain Management, and a member of the systemwide Opioid Stewardship Committee. He also serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California, San Diego, School of Medicine.
After residency training in family medicine, he completed a fellowship in integrative medicine at the Scripps Center for Integrative Medicine, with a focus on integrative pain management. Additionally, he is certified in headache management by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties and is board-certified in integrative medicine. His clinical and research interests include integrative approaches to chronic disease management with a focus on pain management and metabolic disease/obesity.
