Yu Jun Wong MD, FRCP

Dr. Wong graduated from the National University of Malaysia and completed his hepatology fellowship at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada. Dr. Wong has a keen interest in hepatology and is currently a Consultant Gastroenterologist at the Department of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Changi General Hospital. He was honoured as the awardee of the prestigious AASLD Early Career Investigator Award in Clinical/Translational Science 2022, and the AASLD Foundation Healthcare Disparity Research in 2024, the Nurturing Clinician Scientist Scheme (NCSS) from Medicine ACP, Singhealth, and the best oral presentation in GIHEP 2018, 2021 and 2023.

Dr. Wong’s research interests are in the non-invasive prediction of portal hypertension, viral hepatitis C, and steatotic liver disease. He has more than 100 publications in peer-reviewed journals published, regular speaker at various local and regional scientific meetings. Dr. Wong serves as an editorial board member in Hepatology. Besides his research endeavour, Dr. Wong is also actively involved in medical education and quality improvement projects and has received numerous awards from the hospital. Currently, Dr. Wong holds concurrent appointments as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke-NUS Medical School, Adjunct Instructor at Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, Singapore.
