Xuejuan Jiang PhD
Associate Professor of Research and Director of Biostatistics, USC Roski Eye Institute and Department of Ophthalmology and Preventive Medicine, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CaliforniaDr. Xuejuan Jiang received her M.S. in applied biostatistics and epidemiology and Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University of Southern California. She has over 50 publications. As an epidemiologist, Dr. Jiang has designed, managed, and analyzed epidemiological/clinical studies to evaluate the impact of various environmental and genetic risk factors of multiple cancers and ocular diseases. She is the principal investigator of the Population-Based Pediatric Eye Disease Study (POPEYE) Consortium, which pooled data from more than 15,000 preschool children who participated in four population-based studies. She is leading an investigation of the relationship between intrauterine exposure to smoking, DNA methylation, and ocular disorders in children. As director of biostatistics, she has also participated in many clinical and experimental studies of various ocular diseases' etiology and imaging biomarkers.
