Wim Teughels DDS,MSc, PhD

European Federation of Periodontology (EFP) certificate in Periodontology. Currently, he is a full professor at KULeuven and University Hospitals Leuven, heading the Periodontology and Oral Microbiology research group. His research focuses on periodontology and oral microbiology, particularly bacterial adhesion, microbial interactions, antimicrobials, and probiotics, resulting in over 190 papers in international journals, three edited books, and more than ten book chapters.

Prof. Teughels has received multiple national and international awards and is a sought-after speaker on probiotics and antimicrobials worldwide. He serves as associate editor for the Journal of Periodontal Research and Carranza's Clinical Periodontology, co-director of the EFP post-graduate education committee, advisor for the EAO Consensus Conference committee, and Ambassador for the ITI University Campus program. He also holds visiting professorships at Cukurova University in Turkey and Malaya University in Malaysia.
