William G. Hodge MD, PhD, FRCSC
Professor and Chair, Ophthalmologist-in-Chief, Department of Ophthalmology, Ivey Eye Institute, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Western Ontario, London, OntarioDr. William Hodge is Professor and Chair and Ophthalmologist-in-Chief in the Department of Ophthalmology at the Ivey Eye Institute of the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario, in London, Ontario. Dr. Hodge’s research pursuits have been in clinical trials, health service research, systematic reviews, and population projections of eye disease in Canada.
Dr. Hodge received his medical training at McGill University, where he also did his ophthalmology residency. He completed a fellowship in cornea and uveitis at University of California, San Francisco, and Stanford University. While in California, he earned a master’s degree in clinical epidemiology at the University of California, Berkeley, after which he completed a PhD in clinical epidemiology back at McGill. Before moving to London, Ontario, he spent his first 12 years of practice at the University of Ottawa Eye Institute.
