Waleed M Kattan is an associate professor of health services and hospital administration in the college of Economics and Administration at King Abdulaziz University in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. He graduated as a medical doctor from King Abdulaziz University then practiced as a resident for three years. Afterward, he went to the George Washington University where he had his masters in health services management and leadership. Afterward, he worked at the George Washington University Hospital as an administrative intern where he participated in many administrative initiatives. In addition, as a green belt six sigma champion, he has participated and led plenty of six sigma projects in the hospital. Then, he joined the department of health services and hospital administration in the college of Economics and Administration at King Abdulaziz University and worked as a lecturer. Afterward, he completed his studies and accomplished a PhD degree in public affairs - health management track from the university of Central Florida. Now, he works as an associate professor of health services and hospital administration. His research interests are health systems, quality improvement of health services, leadership, and health statistics.
