Vyshak Alva Venur MD
Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Washington, and Joint-Assistant Member, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Institute, Seattle, WashingtonVyshak Alva Venur, MD is a neuro-oncologist at Seattle Cancer Care Alliance, an Assistant Professor of Medicine and Oncology at the University of Washington, and a joint-assistant member at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. He received his MD degree from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune, India. He worked as a Medical Officer at Changi General Hospital, Singapore General Hospital and National Cancer Center, Singapore. He completed internal medicine residency at Cleveland Clinic-Fairview Hospital. Dr. Venur, completed hematology and oncology fellowship at University of Iowa. He was a chief fellow during the senior year for the hematology and oncology fellowship at University of Iowa. He did an additional fellowship in neuro-oncology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA.
Dr. Venur’s research focuses on leptomeningeal, brain metastases and primary brain tumors. He has published numerous peer-reviewed manuscripts, and book chapters. He serves as a reviewer for several prestigious journals. He is an active member of the ASCO trainee council, professional development committee, and the annual meeting professional development education committee.
