Dr. Veronica Nisticò is a psychologist and psychotherapist, currently pursuing a PhD in Cognitive Neuroscience with a focus on the pathophysiology of Functional Neurological Disorders.

Throughout her research career, she has concentrated on body representation in neuropsychiatric conditions. She has worked as a research assistant at the Department of Clinical, Educational and Health Psychology at University College London, the “Aldo Ravelli Research Center for Neurotechnology and Experimental Brain Therapeutics” at the University of Milan, and the “Lab for Neuroimaging of Coma and Consciousness” in the Department of Neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School.

In addition to her research, Dr. Nisticò practices as a psychotherapist in private practice. During her PsyD, she received training in both the Psychiatric Unit and the Prison Psychology Unit at ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo in Milan.

Outside of her professional work, she is committed to volunteering and international cooperation. Combining psychology with human rights advocacy enriches her personal growth and informs both her research and clinical practice.
