Thomas Lenart MD, PhD
Dr. Lenart attended the University of Pennsylvania, focusing on research in the mechanisms of muscle contraction. Dr. Lenart completed a Ph.D. in Biophysics at the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 and received the outstanding thesis award for Math and Sciences. He accomplished this at the same time that he earned his M.D.
Dr. Lenart continued his training by specializing in Ophthalmology, with a three-year residency at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. After completing residency, Dr. Lenart subspecialized in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Adult Strabismus with a one-year fellowship at Emory Eye Center in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Lenart has published multiple research articles and co-authored two book chapters. In addition to his practice at The Children's Eye Doctors, Dr. Lenart is on staff at the University of Washington and Children's Hospital in Seattle.
Dr. Lenart joined The Children's Eye Doctors in 1999 and became the owner in September of 2000. He and his wife, Sylvia, live in Woodinville with their two children. The Lenart family enjoys running, hiking and a variety of outdoor sports.
