Geocadin, MD, FANA, FNCS, FAAN, is a professor of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, with a joint appointment in Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHU-SOM). He is co-chair of the JHU-SOM Clinician Scientist Career Development Award Committee and the Johns Hopkins Encephalitis Center. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree at the University of the Philippines (Diliman), Doctor of Medicine degree at UERM School of Medicine in the Philippines, Neurology residency at New York University and Neurocritical care fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. He has been specializing in neurocritical care medicine at the Johns Hopkins Medical Institutions since 1999. His research focusing on translational studies and clinical trials in brain injury after cardiac arrest resuscitation has been funded by the NIH, AHA and AAN. He has led or contributed to the development of many practice guidelines, scientific statements and reports from the American Academy of Neurology, American Heart Association, European Society of Intensive Care Medicine, The Joint Commission (USA) and the Institutes of Medicine (National Academy of Medicine). He is Past President of the Neurocritical Care Society and the Vice President of the American Neurological Association for 2022-2024.
