Robert Kavitt MD, MPH
Associate Professor of Medicine; Director, Center for Esophageal Diseases, Section of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, University of Chicago, Chicago, IllinoisRobert Kavitt is a board-certified gastroenterologist and Director of the Center for Esophageal Diseases at the University of Chicago. He graduated from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed internal medicine residency at the University of Chicago and gastroenterology fellowship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Kavitt is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association and the American College of Gastroenterology. He has expertise and specialized training in the diagnosis and treatment of esophageal disorders. Dr. Kavitt is a specialist in the evaluation and management of patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease, eosinophilic esophagitis, esophageal motility disorders including achalasia, and Barrett’s esophagus. He has a particular interest in the evaluation of patients with dysphagia and in the management of patients with esophageal strictures. Dr. Kavitt has published several journal articles and book chapters on esophageal disorders and has presented his research at scientific meetings.
