Ramakrishna Mukkamala PhD
Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MichiganDr. Mukkamala is an MIT-trained bioengineer, a dedicated cardiovascular researcher, and a translational scientist. His research in cardiovascular monitoring has led to the formation of two start-up companies – Retia Medical and Digitouch Health. His earlier awards include an AHA Scientist Development Grant and an NSF CAREER Award, while his recent accolades include the 2017 department teaching award given by senior survey and the 2019 All-University innovation of the year award for his widely-acclaimed cuff-less BP measurement inventions. He also serves as the Vice Chair/Chair-Elect of the IEEE EMBS Technical Committee on Cardiopulmonary Systems and an Associate Editor of IEEE Transactions on Biomedical Engineering.
