She obtained her Ph.D. at Yale University with a focus on nursing and health outcomes research. She had research training in clinical study methodology, biostatistics, clinical data collections, data analysis, and clinical study management. Her research interests include self-care issues of patients with cardiovascular disease and diabetes; using big data and computer algorithms to determine patient risk for cardiometabolic diseases; and clinical interventions that improve patient-centered outcomes.
