Dr. Philip Cryer served as the Irene E. and Michael M. Karl Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism in Medicine at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri, between 1995 and 2014. He is now Professor of Medicine Emeritus at Washington University.

Dr. Cryer received his medical degree from Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. His post-graduate training included a residency in internal medicine at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis and endocrinology and metabolism at Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis.
