Dr. Patompong Ungprasert received medical degree from Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand. He completed his internal medicine residency at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown, New York and completed his rheumatology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. During the course of his medical education, Dr. Ungprasert developed a special interest in epidemiology of rheumatic diseases and completed master degree in clinical and translation science from Mayo Clinic College of Medicine.

Dr. Ungprasert's special interest is in sarcoidosis. His current research is devoted to investigating the clinical characteristics and epidemiology of sarcoidosis. Over the past 5 year, he has published over 30 original articles describing this under-studied disease.
