Dr. Mona Gohara did her dermatology training at Yale, where she served as Chief Resident. She continues to hold a faculty appointment at Yale, and sees patients in a private practice located near New Haven, CT.

Mona and her husband Kiran, have two boys, Kiran and Jai. Besides mothering and doctoring, Mona spends time educating the public on skin health, skin cancer, skin of color, and sun protection. She has done this through writing, lecturing on the local, national, and international level, by engaging popular media, and through work with many industry partners.

Mona is an active member of The American Academy of Dermatology, where she Chaired the Social Media Task Force, The Women’s Dermatologic Society where she serves as President-Elect, and The American Society For Dermatologic Surgery, where she Chairs the DEI Work Group. She has been published in The Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, The Journal of Drugs in Dermatology, The British Journal of Dermatology, and The Journal of Pediatric Dermatology. Mona serves on the advisory board of Women’s Health magazine and Shape magazine. She has been a contributing writer for Goodhousekeeping.com, ELLE.com, Shape.com, and People.com and a medical resource for many other mainstream media outlets.
