Professor of Dermatology and Rheumatology, Duke University Medical Center, Durham, North CarolinaDr. Matilda Nicholas is a Professor of Dermatology and Rheumatology at Duke University Health System in Durham, North Carolina. Dr. Nicholas serves as the Vice Chair of Clinical Operations, Co-Director of the Immunodermatology Program, and the Director of Information technologies of the Department of Dermatology.
Dr. Nicholas worked in biopharmaceutical research studying G-protein Coupled Receptors before entering the MD/PhD program at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she obtained her doctorate in Immunology studying the role of B cells in Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. She completed her preliminary year in pediatrics and her residency in dermatology at UNC Chapel Hill.
Her research interests include QI/QA, physician wellbeing, patient care delivery, and immune mediated diseases of the skin. Her clinical practice is focused on complex medical dermatology and immunodermatology.
