Dr. Maryam Jessri is the Discipline Lead in Oral Medicine at the University of Queensland and a Senior Oral Medicine Consultant for Metro North Hospital and Health Services, Queensland Health in Brisbane, Australia. Maryam has completed her PhD in genetics of Oral Cancer and has a special interest in understanding the genetic pathways involved in progression of oral potentially malignant disorders to oral squamous cell carcinoma. Her clinical research focuses on strategies to promote early diagnosis, improve access to care, and increase health literacy for patients.
