She received her PhD from University of Alabama at Birmingham and completed her postdoctoral fellowship at University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. As an NIH Building Interdisciplinary Research Careers in Women’s Health (BIRCWH) Scholar, her research centers on the gut-brain axis, with a particular focus on how intestinal stretch influences feeding behavior and glucose homeostasis in a sex-specific context.
