Luiz Meirelles DDS, MS, PhD
Assistant Professor, Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry, College of Dentistry, The Ohio State University, Columbus, OHDr. Luiz Meirelles earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998 from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, after which he completed a Master of Science degree in prosthodontics from Brazil's State University of Campinas. He then enrolled at the University of Gothenburg in Sweden, where he received a PhD degree in biomaterials. He recently completed an implant fellowship at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in Ann Arbor.
Dr. Meirelles was formerly an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. He was also the Director of Product Evaluations for the ADA Science Institute, for which he performed product reviews and developed guidelines for selecting restorative and preventive dental materials.
In July, 2019, Dr. Meirelles joined the College of Dentistry at the The Ohio State University as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Restorative and Prosthetic Dentistry.
