Lewis Winning is Professor / Consultant in Restorative Dentistry, at the Dublin Dental University Hospital, Trinity College Dublin, Ireland. His main research focus is the impact of oral health on general health.

He completed his undergraduate dental training (BDS) at University of Dundee, Scotland, 2004. This was followed by specialty training firstly in Periodontology (DChDent) at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, 2010. He then completed further specialty training in Restorative Dentistry, and also completed his research doctorate (PhD) at Queen's University Belfast, Northern Ireland 2018. Clinical fellowships include: FFD(Perio) RCSI 2010; FDS RCPSGlasg 2016; and FDS(Rest Dent) RCSEng 2018.
