Klara Klein, MD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Endocrinology and Metabolism at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Klein is the Associate Scientific Director of the UNC Endocrine, Diabetes, and Obesity Clinical Research Unit (EnDO CRU), where she serves as site principal investigator and co-investigator on industry-sponsored, NIH-funded, and investigator-initiated clinical trials. Dr. Klein’s research interests lie in clinical trials in people with diabetes and obesity, with a developing focus in individuals with diabetes and advanced chronic kidney disease. Dr. Klein received her undergraduate degree from Stanford University, and her MD and PhD from the Medical Scientist Training Program, where she also completed her Internal Medicine and Fellowship training.
