John Gorcsan III MD
Professor of Medicine and Director of Echocardiography, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh, PennsylvaniaDr. Gorcsan is a tenured Professor of Medicine whose research focus in is quantifying cardiac function using new echocardiographic imaging technologies with a special interest in heart failure patients, where he has published numerous original research articles in the scientific literature. He was Chairman of the American Society of Echocardiography National Scientific Sessions for 2004, and Chairman, American Society of Echocardiography Research Committee. He currently serves on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and has served on the Editorial Board of the Journal of the American Society of Echocardiography. Dr. Gorcsan serves on a National Institutes of Health study section for the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Dr. Gorcsan’s research is supported by the United States National Institutes of Health, American Heart Association and the American Society of Echocardiography as Principal Investigator.
