Joanna Twist MD
Transitional Year Resident, Department of Dermatology, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VirginiaDr. Twist was born in New Jersey but spent her formative years in Morgantown, West Virginia. Driven by a passion for the sciences, she pursued her undergraduate studies at The Ohio State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry. Before embarking on her medical education, Dr. Twist honed her research skills through a fellowship at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. There, she focused on the epigenetics of autism spectrum disorders, contributing to a deeper understanding of the complex interplay between genetics and environmental factors.
Dr. Twist then attended West Virginia University for medical school, where she further developed her clinical skills and dedication to patient care. Currently, she is a dermatology resident at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where she continues to integrate her research background with her medical training, striving to make meaningful contributions to the field of dermatology. With a commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient outcomes, Dr. Twist embodies the spirit of inquiry and compassion in her pursuit of excellence in dermatology.
