Jimmy Chen MD

Jimmy Chen is a fourth year ophthalmology resident and chief resident for the 2024-2025 academic year at the University of California San Diego Shiley Eye Institute. He attended Oregon Health & Science University for medical school, where he was awarded a Research to Prevent Blindness Medical Student Award to study artificial intelligence in retinopathy of prematurity as well as big data analyses using electronic health record data. He then attended Providence St. Vincent Medical Center for his internship. His current research interests focus on how artificial intelligence and big data can be leveraged to improve the physician-patient relationship.
