Associate Dean, Academic Affairs; Associate Professor of Optometry, Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona, California

Dr. Ida Chung serves as the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and an Associate Professor of Optometry at Western University of Health Sciences. She earned her Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from the SUNY College of Optometry and completed a residency in Pediatrics and Binocular Vision at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (PCO). Additionally, Dr. IC holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Higher Education from Drexel University.

She is a Fellow of both the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD) and the American Academy of Optometry (AAO). Dr. Chung is a past president of the California Optometric Association and the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association (OVDRA), formerly known as COVD.

With over 30 years of teaching experience in optometric education, Dr. Chung previously taught at the SUNY College of Optometry, where she served as Chief of Pediatrics and worked as a vision consultant for various community agencies before joining WesternU.

Dr. Chung is also an active researcher with the Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) and a frequent invited lecturer at conferences and events both domestically and internationally.
