Hywel co-directs the Centre of Evidence-Based Dermatology at the University of Nottingham which includes Cochrane Skin (identifying research gaps) and the UK Dermatology Clinical Trials Network (addressing those gaps through randomised controlled trials). Hywel is an advocate of evidence-based dermatology and for working with patients and within multidisciplinary teams to conduct high quality research that informs the UK National Health Service.
