Patel, MD, MPH is a Clinical Instructor of Urology and Fellow in Urologic Oncology at Loyola University Medical Center. He completed residency at the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute of the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. He has published epidemiologic and comparative effectiveness studies in urologic oncology as well as systematic reviews used to inform the American Urological Association guidelines on kidney cancer and early-stage testicular cancer. He initiated and completed the PREVENTER and ERECT randomized trials and ORIOLES prospective cohort focused on perioperative outcomes of venous thromboembolism, erectile dysfunction, and opioid use after radical prostatectomy for localized prostate cancer. He has strong interests in improving accurate detection of prostate and kidney cancer through risk prediction models and advanced imaging to help guide clinical decisions.
