Gillian Barach BS, BME

Gillian Barach is a graduate of the University of Akron, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Engineering with a focus in biomaterials and tissue engineering. There, she completed her Capstone research in designing an at-home sodium monitor for patients with diabetes insipidus, as well as working on the Biomedical Engineering Design team to create a specialized seating solution for a patient with muscular dystrophy.

Currently, Gillian is pursuing an MD at Northeast Ohio Medical University in Rootstown, where she does neurobiology research in age-related hearing loss. She also holds positions in the university’s chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Public Health and Preventive Medicine group, where she works to help the community.
