Frederik Persson, MD, DMSc is an endocrinologist and senior researcher at Steno Diabetes Center Copenhagen, Denmark, in a research group headed by Professor Peter Rossing. The group has a long-standing interest in the epidemiology, pathophysiology, prevention and treatment of diabetic complications Dr. Persson has been involved in clinical studies of the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system with special focus on renin inhibition. Additional focus is on renal and cardiovascular effects of GLP-1 RA as well SGLT2i, both in randomized trials and in a real-world setting. Current projects include investigation of new pathways to predict and prevent diabetic nephropathy.
