Florian Lordick MD, PhD
Director and Professor of Oncology, University Cancer Center Leipzig, GermanyDr. Florian Lordick is Director and Professor of Oncology of the University Cancer Center Leipzig, Germany.
His scientific focus is clinical and translational research in gastrointestinal cancer, the optimization of multimodal and personalized cancer care, and palliative and supportive care; he has authored and co-authored more than 250 peer-reviewed articles. He is a member of the editorial board of several international journals, including Annals of Oncology, Cancer Treatment Reviews, and Gastric Cancer, and serves as a scientific advisor and reviewer for various medical journals such as The New England Journal of Medicine, The Lancet, The Lancet Oncology, and the European Journal of Cancer.
Dr. Lordick is on the board of directors and serves as secretary of the German Cancer Society (DKG), for which he is also chairman of the palliative care working group. He is a member of the European Society for Medical Oncology (ESMO), the European Organization of Research and Treatment of Cancer (EORTC), and the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO), among other professional organizations. He is the president elect of the International Gastric Cancer Association and has been nominated to the European School of Oncology (ESO) core faculty.
Dr. Lordick received his medical training at the Universities of Regensburg, Munich, and Lausanne. He completed his residency in internal medicine and oncology/hematology at the Technical University of Munich.
