Dr. Galasko is  a Neurologist and Professor in the Department of Neurosciences, UC San Diego, and a Staff Physician at the San Diego VA Healthcare System. He has a longstanding clinical and research interest in biomarkers for neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease, and their application to early diagnosis and to therapeutic efforts and has published extensively in these areas. Dr. Galasko is Associate Director of the UCSD Shiley-Marcos Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center. He is a member of the Steering Committee of the PPMI study and co-chairs its Biologics Working group.
