Dominique Valla MD
Dominique-Charles Valla, born January 4, 1952 in Paris, was trained in hepatology at Hôpital Saint Luc, Montreal, Canada, in André Viallet’s group, and at Hôpital Beaujon, Clichy, in Jean-Pierre Benhamou’s group. Full professor of hepatology since 1991, he has been the head of liver unit at Hôpital Beaujon, Université Paris Diderot, from 1999 to 2013. He is the founder and coordinator of a national reference center for vascular disorders of the liver since 2005; and of the Academic Department for Digestive Diseases “UNITY” at Hôpitaux Universitaires Paris-Nord Val-de-Seine since 2013. He has contributed to the fields of viral hepatitis, portal hypertension, complications of cirrhosis and vascular liver diseases.
