Dipak Kotecha MD, PhD
Professor of Cardiology, NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre, University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, Birmingham, UKDr. Dipak Kotecha leads global innovation teams to implement new technology and health data to benefit the care of patients, supported by public engagement. He is Chief Investigator of clinical trials in the UK and internationally, including the DaRe2THINK programme (embedding a clinical trial platform in primary care across NHS England) and STEEER-AF (using education to improve patient care across six countries). Dipak leads on major regional and global approaches in health data science, including theme lead for the NIHR Birmingham Biomedical Research Centre, the NHS West Midlands Secure Data Environment, and Europe-wide programmes such as BigData@Heart and HYPERMARKER. He is chairing the European Society of Cardiology guidelines on the management of patients with atrial fibrillation.
