David C Portnoy MD
Hematologist and Medical Oncologist, West Cancer Center, Memphis, TennesseeDr. David Portnoy is a board-certified hematologist and medical oncologist with the West Cancer Center in Memphis, Tennessee. He is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Nova Southeastern College of Osteopathic Medicine and an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center (UTHSC). His clinical and research interests include sarcomas, lung and gastrointestinal cancers, and benign hematology, including blood clotting disorders. He is actively involved in research trials at the West Clinic.
Dr. Portnoy is on the Small Cell Lung Cancer Panel of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network and the Practice Partnership committee of the American Society of Hematology.
After receiving his medical degree from the State University of New York at Syracuse, Dr. Portnoy underwent residency training in internal medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and completed his fellowship in hematology and oncology at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston.
