David Fiorentino MD, PhD

Professor, Department of Dermatology, Division of Rheumatology, Stanford School of Medicine, Redwood City, California

David Fiorentino is a Professor in the Department of Dermatology at Stanford School of Medicine where he has been on faculty there since 2002.  He graduated from Stanford University School of Medicine in 1998 with an MD and PhD in cancer biology.  He served as the Associate Program Director at Stanford for 10 years and has co-directed a multidisciplinary dermatology-rheumatology clinic since 2004. 

His clinics specializes in the treatment of patients with rheumatic skin disease, with a focus on dermatomyositis and systemic sclerosis. He  is a founding member and past president of the Rheumatologic Dermatology Society.  He serves on numerous advisory boards, including the scientific advisory board at The Myositis Association. His research interests include identifying and characterizing novel autoantigens and their clinical associations as well as their role in disease pathogenesis.  He also conducts clinical trials for patients with dermatomyositis and systemic sclerosis.
