Ferenc Jolesz MD Professor of Radiology Harvard Medical School, Vice-Chair , Radiology Research Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Director of the Ferenc Jolesz National Center for Image-Guided Therapy, Boston, MADr. Tempany is the Ferenc A. Jolesz MD Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School and Vice Chair of Radiology Research at Brigham & Women’s hospital. She obtained her medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, Diagnostic Radiology residency at Loyola University Medical Center and MR fellowship at Johns Hopkins. Her major areas of research interest are MR imaging of the pelvis and image-guided therapy (IGT), with a long-standing interest in MR imaging and interventions for prostate cancer – diagnosis, staging, and treatment. She is a member of the international prostate imaging working group and member of the PI-RADS v2 steering committee. She leads an active multi-disciplinary prostate cancer research group which encompasses basic research in IGT and multiple clinical trials. She is the PI of the NIH funded, National Center for Image Guided Therapy (NCIGT).
