Christian K. Ramsoomair BA

MD-PhD Student, Section of Virology and Immunotherapy, Department of Neurological Surgery, University of Miami Brain Tumor Institute, Miami, Florida

Christian Ramsoomair is an MD-PhD student in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he focuses on epigenetic and immunological mechanisms driving aggressive pediatric brain tumors. With a degree in Chemistry and Biochemistry from the College of the Holy Cross and a research background from institutions such as MIT and Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Christian has developed expertise in mechanistic enzymology, molecular biology, and computational data analysis. Under the mentorship of Drs. Danny Reinberg and Ashish Shah, Christian is currently studying the role of epitranscriptomics in Diffuse Midline Glioma (DMG/DIPG), employing innovative approaches to uncover novel therapeutic strategies for these aggressive pediatric brain tumors.

In addition to his research, Christian has made significant contributions to the medical and scientific communities through leadership roles. A recipient of multiple travel awards and fellowships as well as a published author in high-impact journals, Christian is committed to advancing our understanding of neurological cancers to improve patient outcomes through cutting-edge research and clinical excellence. As an aspiring neurosurgeon-scientist, he aims to integrate epigenetics and immunotherapy into the development of transformative treatments for patients with intractable diseases.
