He is an Associate Clinical Professor at SUNY College of Optometry, as well as maintaining staff appointments at the St. Lawrence Rehabilitation Center, and University Eye Center. He is also the Residency Supervisor for an accredited residency program in Vision Therapy and Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation at EyeCare Professionals. In 2014, Barry received the "Ludlam Education Award" for being an outstanding educator in the field of acquired brain injury by the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association. Barry lectures nationally about the effects of Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) on vision, He has written over 35 scientific papers, and has coauthored a textbook on the clinical aspects of eye movements.
