Harvard Medical School Associate Professor of Neurology and Assistant in Neurology and Neuropathology at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MAAnne Louise Oaklander M.D.,Ph.D. is Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School. Trained at Rutgers and Johns Hopkins, she directs Massachusetts General Hospital's Nerve Unit, including MGH's clinical neuro-skin biopsy lab a federally funded research team. Their focus is small-fiber polyneuropathy, a previously rarely recognized disorder in youngsters and females she helped link to fibromyalgia, and to discover causes and treatments. A Fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and the American Neurological Association, she has over 130 publications, and has served on advisory panels for the National Institutes of Health, the FDA, and the Institute of Medicine.
