Alvin Chandra MD
Assistant Professor, Division of Cardiology, UT Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, TexasAlvin Chandra, MD, is an Assistant Professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center. He received his initial medical training at UT Southwestern, where he earned his medical degree, performed an internal medicine residency, and completed a general cardiology fellowship. He then received advanced training in cardio-oncology through an additional fellowship at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, followed by a research fellowship in cardiovascular imaging at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School.
As UT Southwestern faculty, Dr. Chandra leads the Dallas Heart Study echocardiography core laboratory. His current research efforts focus on heart failure, health-related quality of life, echocardiography, and cardio-oncology. He is also a clinically active cardio-oncologist at UT Southwestern with significant clinical footprints in the inpatient and outpatient sides of patient care. Dr. Chandra is a Fellow of American College of Cardiology and is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Heart Association and American Society of Echocardiography.
