Aaron Ver Heul, MD, PhD, is on faculty in the division of Allergy & Immunology at the Washington University School of Medicine in Saint Louis. He earned his medical and doctoral degrees in the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine and fellowship in Allergy & Immunology at Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University School of Medicine. He then pursued post-doctoral training in the laboratory of Brian Kim, MD, MTR studying the basic biology of itch and allergic inflammation. Dr. Ver Heul runs a specialty clinic focused on chronic itch conditions and has research funding from the National Institutes of Health to study the pathophysiology of urticarial itch.
