Mehul Trivedi is a Chief Medical Resident at the University of California San Diego Internal Medicine Residency Program where he also completed his Internal Medicine training. He will be pursuing a fellowship in Gastroenterology at the University of Utah next year. His research focuses are on endoscopic techniques for polyp removal as well as colorectal cancer screening, particularly among high-risk patients.

His work has included a to identify safe strategies for duodenal adenoma removal as well as several studies aimed at elucidating optimal surveillance intervals for adenomas. More recently, his work has focused on cancer prevention among individuals at increased risk for GI cancer and has involved the creation of a Lynch Syndrome registry at UCSD. Mehul is also highly involved in teaching residents and research mentorship, and his roles as a Chief Resident include planning and implementing longitudinal educational curricula as well as helping residents find and complete research during residency.
